When will I get my food stamps in Texas?

Simple answer

In Texas, the current handbook puts food stamps (SNAP) on the 1st through the 28th.

If the case was certified before May 1, 2023 and benefits did not stop for six months, the handbook says the old day stays. We cannot compute that older day from the EDG number.

Type only the digit this state uses. Do not type a full Social Security number, a card number, or a PIN. This page does not save what you type.

Type the digit above to see a day.

October 2026

Green is your day when we can find it. Pale days are other days this state uses.

Weekends and holidays

This chart uses the calendar day it prints. It does not say food stamps (SNAP) come a day early when that day is a weekend or a holiday. We will not make up an early-deposit rule.

How to check the balance

  1. 1. Turn the EBT card over. Use the phone number and the website printed there. That is the official state line.
  2. 2. Call it, or open the state app or site named on the card. You will need the card. Never type the PIN on this website.
  3. 3. Some private apps also show a balance. They are not the state. Do not type a PIN into a private app.

Where this day comes from

Texas Works Handbook, B-250. Last checked 2026-10-16. We read the handbook on October 16, 2026. It did not print a revision date on the page. It says households certified before May 1, 2023 keep an older schedule unless benefits stopped for at least six months. The 2021 USDA chart does not match this table, so we use the handbook.

USDA's full chart is also online. PDF updated 2021-11-04. USDA issuance schedule.
